SOFTWARE FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Computer education for children with special needs
Temenujka Zafirova-Malcheva

My work with children with disabilities started in 1999 at the Center for children with cerebrel palsy (it is known now as the Specialized hospital for treatment and rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy “St. Sofia”). I was a graduate in the Department of Mathematics and Informatics, Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski”. After my graduation as a Master in Mathematics and IT in October 2000 I continued working in the center. In December 2000 I started my doctorate in the Chair of Information Technologies, in the Department of Mathematics and Informatics. My subject was “Software for children with special needs”. Besides with children with cerebral palsy, I have worked with children with injured hearing at the APCIH (The Assosiation of parents of children with injured hearing) and with grown people with disabilities.
